I would like to welcome all those who have recently become members of the BiblicalHebrew.com online learning community!

We are a relatively new website and have just launched the social-learning element of the website in January 2023.

I am working hard to get more and more course video lessons and exercises out on a regular basis so you all can continue in your journey of learning Hebrew.

If you’d like, please take a moment to introduce yourself either here, in the students forum, or in the teachers’ forum. I would very much like to get to know you all!

I’ll start by introducing myself. I currently live in the UK and work as a postdoc researcher in Biblical Hebrew at the University of Cambridge. I first started studying Hebrew in the winter of 2007-2008 before moving to Israel in 2008 where I did my B.A. I have loved Hebrew ever since and am very grateful to be able to make it part of my career. But no matter how much Hebrew I learn—or teach for that matter—I am still a student of the language. With ancient languages, we will all always be students of the language. That’s why it is great to form a community where we can learn and grow together. Language is a team sport!

I am Rimon Armaly, a full-time faculty member at Elim Bible Institute & College. I teach biblical Hebrew & Greek at Elim. I am originally from Israel. Thus, I love Hebrew, and other ancient languages. I am married, I have 4 boys. I hope we can learn from each other. I am here to learn and contribute as well.

I’m a Texan in exile, currently residing in Tennessee. I am Hebrew student with the Ancient Language Institute and have been on and off again teaching myself the language for the last year prior to enrolling this semester. As a Christian, I have a great love and appreciation for the Hebrew bible, and hope to be able to understand it better by studying the original languages. Along the way, I’ve found out I love learning languages too! Excited to see what becomes of this project; Ben’s work with Greek has been a blessing to me.

So glad to have you here!

Looking forward to watching all of us grow together in our understanding of Hebrew as more and more course material gets developed.

And cool to hear that you enjoy the Greek material as well!

Shalom! My name is Ger, I’m a believer from the Philippines. I started learning Biblical Hebrew on my own a few years back, all through the traditional grammar-translation method, but haven’t gone that far. I hope to learn Hebrew the immersive way from the course here and from you all.

So glad to have you here, Ger, all the way from the Philippines!

I actually taught an intensive course in Biblical Hebrew in the Philippines back in 2018 at the Biblical Seminary of the Philippines. Perhaps someday I’ll make it back again!

Greetings! I am James. I’m from Orlando, Fl, and have been studying Hebrew off and on for over 10 years but much more intentionally for the last year. I first saw you (Benjamin) on the Biblical Language Center Online, which first nudged me in the direction of the Communicative Approach. I’m never going back 🙂
